The Heard County Historical Society meets quarterly on the third Thursday of the month.  In 2025, we will meet in March, June, September, and December.  Meetings are held at 5:30 pm at location to be announced.   Visitors are always welcome.

  • Super Museum Sunday / February 9th from 12 – 4 pm / Free Admission – Super Museum Sunday is a statewide event celebrating Georgia’s history and culture by highlighting the anniversary of the founding of the Georgia colony in 1733.

March 2025

  • Regular Meeting – Franklin Methodist Church  / Thursday – March 20th at 5:30 pm

June  2025

  • Regular Meeting – Franklin Methodist Church / Thursday – June 19 at 5:30 pm

July 2025

  • Old Jail Museum and Gulf Station Museum will be open during Summerfest 2025

September 2025

  • Regular Meeting – Franklin Methodist Church / Thursday – September 18 at 5:30 pm

December 2025

  • Old Jail Museum and Gulf Station Museum will be open during Winterfest 2025
  • Dinner Meeting will be held (time and place to be announced)
